Kewanee IL Wedding Photographer | Tyler & Annie Happily Ever After

I have known Annie since grade school and was very touched she thought of me for her big day. I was a little reluctant and nervous to get in to the wedding scene but through her laid back attitude about it all and some encouragement from friends and family, I decided to go for it! I am very grateful for this huge opportunity and the doors it opened. Annie was a GORGEOUS bride......made my job easy. Even with a slight dress glitch before the wedding, she kept a smile on her face and a good attitude. I would have been a wreck! She and Tyler are very much in Love and have a very happy future ahead of them.
Congratulations and I wish you nothing but the best of luck!
Thank you for letting me part of your day.

Kewanee IL Photographer | Back Lighting Practice

I recently had the opportunity to shoot with a fellow photographer to learn about back lighting. A lot of the photos that I swoon over are back lit and hazy and yummy! So when I got the chance to maybe learn a little about it, I jumped all over it. Most of the back lit photos I've taken thus far have been trial and error in the moment. It was nice to take my time and think about why it worked and why it didn't without the pressure of a client over your shoulder and having someone to bounce ideas off of was an added bonus. We used my beautiful niece as a model and she took direction well and was beyond patient with 3 people (her mother included, she got a quick lesson in photography) pointing their cameras at her. I am very happy with the way they turned out and I learned a lot. The next night I took my 2 year old son out. I got more practice and a couple canvas-worthy shots. Thank you so much to Izzi for being a gorgeous model as always, Darcy for making a beautiful child, and Rachael for inviting me along. Can't wait to do it again!

Kewanee IL Photographer | I Heart Faces Photo Challenge ~ All Boy

The theme this week is tied to Father's Day and what better image than one of a Dad sharing a favorite past time with his baby girl and stealing a kiss on her sweet little curls?! This image just melts my heart and I think any child would be so lucky to have this moment to look back at when she's all grown up.

Kewanee IL Child Photographer | Blake

I cannot say enough good things about this little boy. He was so sweet and laid back and easy to work with. I wish he could teach other toddlers a thing or two about photo sessions. He tolerated 3, yes 3 outfit changes and never put up a fight. We never reached the cranky baby stage. It was great. I love all my sessions but I especially loved this little man!
