After playing phone tag with the winner of the Giving Back session, we finally talked to each other rather than a voice mail last night! I'm happy to announce the recipient of the Giving Back session is 

the "M" Family nominated by Kim DeClercq

She had nothing but amazing things to say about this family and how they all, even the 9 year old, are always thinking of others first. Kim's kind kind words and the way she described this family just drew me in. I instantly felt connected to them. 

I must say a huge thank you to everyone who sent in a nomination. If I could, I'd give everyone a session! I plan on doing this annually so renominate next time. And Thank You!

I had such an amazing 2012 with being crazy busy and I am beyond grateful! One thing I didn't get done much during the fall rush was taking some new pics of my crazy little man and his hilarious faces! He is after all the reason I started this photography journey and I need to make sure I don't loose sight of that. He's just the best and he makes me sublimely happy!

He was pointing at the "barking spiders" on my head. If you don't know that's slang for farts! I love little boy humor!

Focus is a bit off, but it makes me giggle because he was worried about 

his hair blowing in the wind and this was him checking it!

I had a hard time picking just one favorite from 2012! But I kept coming back to this photo of my niece. She's such a gorgeous little thing and she has no idea!!! I love her slight smile and that yummy light behind her!

I don't even know where to begin. Rachael is such an amazing photographer, person and someone I've followed from her early days. She's from Kewanee and was just a couple years ahead of me in school so I've always looked up to her talents and that she was making a career out of something she loved! So when I was thinking of starting my own career in photography, I reached out to her for some advice. She was such an amazingly kind person from that first conversation and we quickly became photog buddies! She has been such a great cheerleader, advice giver, and listener. I feel like I can ask the silliest questions without her judging me.

She has the BEST laugh and is always so bubbly and has definitely passed those qualities on to her daughter. L was such a ham and sweetheart. She is definitely a 2 year old. She loves to do exactly what she wants to do and that's about it! I was super nervous to do these photos since it's someone who's in the business herself, but they are sooooo thrilled and happy and uber uber in love with them and that is the most awesome compliment I could ever receive.

I feel like I'm rambling so I'll quit typing now and let you enjoy their pics!

I just love this little family! I shouldn't say little......they are expanding rapidly! I've done 2 pregnancy announcements for them and in case you missed the last one......they're currently expecting twins! I had a lot of fun following their oldest, who is still under 2 years old, around his farm. He definitely runs the place. He knew all sorts of little shortcuts to get away from me but I kept up and got some super cute shots of him in his element. Congratulations to your adorable family and thank you for once again trusting me with your life moments!

How adorable are these two?! I had a lot of fun with them. Megan is so sweet and kind and in love. She adores her man and he adores her too. I'm really looking forward to their wedding next year. It will be a lot of fun and now that they know what they're in for with me....they'll have that much more fun!!! Congratulations Megan and Chris.
